What an unplanned hiatus!
I came from posting daily pictures of my girls to being also 5 months away from blogging.
The thing is that working is really sucking life out of me. In order to be able to start sleeping again, I returned to the gym. I LOVE lifting, but never dedicate myself long enough to get good results. Also, dieting is not my specialty. This time however, I have been doing really well. I am proud to say that I have reached the weight I wanted, that I am getting leaner and leaner, that I am looking much better than I was before, and, I have been sleeping like a baby every single night since I started working out twice a day, for six days a week.
In addition, there is my Dreamweaver course. I haven’t been the best student ever (missed some classes and haven’t been doing much homework), but I am really enjoying it.
Anyways, here and there, I find time to my girls…
I haven’t bought them anything new in a while, but they still have some outfits to show off.
I love them all so much…
I hope it will not take that long again for me to show up once more.
My girls would love to stay in touch with everyone as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by.
While I received the (sad) news of me losing the photo shoot for a baby (who does not vote for a baby picture?!?), I was really excited yesterday for starting the course of Dreamweaver CS5.
I mentioned some time ago, that I had plans for 2012. It is true that the photo shoot played a role in it, but as it did not depend exclusive on me, there is little I can do. Studying however is different…
My idea was following the first semester of CS5, but apparently, I was the only one interested in starting it in February, so they suggested me giving a try with level 2.
I was sincere with the teacher. I do not even remember anymore when it was the last time I built a website. I had some pages on the time of geocities (the younger ones probably will not even know what it is), but that has been ages ago. In the past ten years, I have not done anything related to web design. He was a little bit skeptical in the beginning (which I would also be in his place), but after he noticed that I was following, he did not have problems about me staying.
Who knows when I will be able to start being creative, but I will surely share my doings with you as soon as possible.
It took me more than one year to make up my mind and get Yukino. Back then, the plan was sticking to only one Dollfie Dream for at least a looooong time.
The long time lasted only until December when Aoi joined the family. Yukino was feeling lovely and Aoi was a natural combination that worked perfectly from day one.
But then it came the overseas lottery… It was the first time I was participating in one and I decided to increase my chances. My boyfriend and I went for both Mariko and Millhi. The result was: he got Millhi and I, Mariko.
Initially, the idea was selling Mariko-sensei. It was nothing against her, but because of her white skin, I was a little concerned about having to invest again in a brand new set of hands. Silly, but true.
Millhi is not home yet. As they tried to deliver her when there was nobody home, we will have to wait until Monday to bring her home. Yesterday however, we picked Mariko-sensei up.
On the way home, I started doubting my plans of selling Mariko… I hadn’t opened the box yet, but it started to feel “wrong”. “And if I sell her to someone who will not take proper care of her”; “She is the first White Skin DDS. Won’t I regret not keeping her?” etc etc etc.
I opened VOLKS box and the tears came. I did not even remove the plastic because it would only make things worse.
After some thinking, I surrendered to her charms.
She is too cute for me to let her go just like that. Mariko-sensei stays with the rest of the girls.
Our family is getting really big now and I am proud of every single of my girls.
I have been really busy lately. For the most part, it is because of work. Unfortunately, I haven’t found time to get back to my “normal” routine (which includes training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and going to the gym). However, I don’t lose heart. And not only I am going to be on the mat and on the gym floor really soon again, I am already planning further.
On my first post of 2012, I already mentioned that I wanted to do some new things. The kick-off was my entrance to a photo contest (and if you haven’t voted yet, remember that you have until February 5th to do so). I also mapped this blog on a personalized domain (https://debbierodrigues.com/) and had a haircut.
Today, I came across an old blog entry I posted back in 2007 that reflects a lot of my spirit now. It reinforced the fact that I am not having just an impulse of excitement, that is who I am.
I hope to have some more news for everybody soon. And in the meantime, I continue doing my best to improve my photography skills.
Thanks for stopping by.
To all my friends out there! I need all the support you can give me.
For those who have Facebook: I need all the “Likes” I can get, PLEASE!
I entered the photo contest of a Belgian photographer and the prize is one photo shoot with him. I really want this photo badly. To win, I have to have the most “Likes” on my self portrait.
I can’t afford a photo shoot at the moment, but if I get this, it will be an awesome start!
The theme I chose was “Watch out! l’m aggressive!!”. I used a katana and my cosplay lenses to build my character.
If you also have FB, please go to this link (http://tinyurl.com/7s8c4ub) and “Like” my picture. And if you want to help me even more, spread the word to your friends, acquaintances, neighbors, colleagues, family and EVERYONE ELSE you know, please! If you vote and get me at least another vote, I am sure I can win this.
Thank you so much in advance!
Yesterday was the day that we welcomed Aoi!
The most wanted box for DD dolls!
Even Soubi came by to take a look.
I was so excited to have her in my arms. It feels a lot different from Yukino’s arrival, but by no way less special.
This time I made sure that my pictures were of better quality.
There she is!!!!
I can almost reach her…
The contents of the box.
More pictures of Aoi AND Yukino coming soon!
Yes! Even though in the beginning I have said that I was going to stick with one DD for a long time, I have ordered my second one.
In fact, she is “already” here, after spending 2 weeks at the customs office, they finally tried to deliver her today. Unfortunately, as I was at work, I do not have her in my arms yet. Tomorrow, I am going to the post office first thing in the morning.
And who is my second DD?
It is pretty much a no-brainer, but I simply felt she was the sister Yukino needed.
Aoi’s first version had that angry face, but the second one is much lighter. A serious, but not aggressive girl (this is my humble opinion – I adore both versions anyway).
I am so excited about her!!! I already have some clothes waiting for Aoi to arrive.
I can’t wait to start taking pictures of the two sisters together!
