After I felt I was getting somewhere with my pictures, I decided to venture into the worlds of post processing. I knew it was not going to be easy, but why not?
It felt like a natural continuation and a good thing to have both skills moving forward together instead of waiting for some miracle to happen.
Well, I knew it was going to be difficult, but I was not expecting it to be THAT hard.
I am not blaming the software. I am pretty sure that a lot can be done with Corel Paint Shop Pro X2, but for obvious reasons, one needs to know how to get the best out it. In my case right now, I don’t.
In the meantime, I keep on shooting, trying, sometimes getting good results, failing miserably others… And I hope you can bare with me in this long learning process.
Thanks for stopping by. And if you think of anything that might helps us out, let Yukino and I know it, please.
The past months have been really hectic for me. Last week however, things got ever busier. And to make things worse, I got sick (cold, sore throat, fever, you name it).
Needless to say, when I manage to finally get home, I was worn out. I just sat on the couch like a potato.
So the idea is posting a different picture of Yukino every day for as long as I can make it. 🙂
I am making use of the opportunity to learn some on post processing. I have to say that it is not simple though. Sometimes what I like doesn’t seem to be what others like. That makes me admire even more those who catch the attention of the public with their photography.
Today it was the seventh day of the project and I am glad that I made it so far. Mainly because to wrap-up the week, I finally managed to get a shot of Soubi with Yukino-chan. My first family portrait with my babies.
Thanks for reading. またね！
After taking some pictures of Yukino in the veranda yesterday, we went to a park for her first afternoon outdoor.
The destination was the Citadel Park in Ghent. It was quite calm for a Saturday. The passers-by could slow down the pace to take a better look at Yukino, but no one really got in the way. There was even one lady that complimented her beauty. The proud mom here was in the clouds!
You will notice that I am not really keen with the wig. Her hair was pretty much covering her cute face all the time. Hairstyling has already been added to my “things to improve” list.
As it was first time outside, I made sure she had her teddy rabbit with her all the time. She did not feel alone this way.
The hours passed very fast! It was an afternoon of discoveries and adventures for both model and photographer. I must say that I thought I was going to feel weird by taking pictures of a doll(fie) in public. I never felt this way though. Once I took her out of bag and placed her by the tree for the pose, I did not think about anything else anymore.
I would like to thank flan_man for his patience, support and great ideas. Arigatoo gozaimasu!

It is true that I took some pictures of Yukino on the day of her arrival. However, I don’t count those as a photo shoot. There was no setting, the lights were not good and there were more pictures of the box than of Yukino herself.
So to make it up, she did her official debut for the camera today.
I will probably repeat myself many times, but Yukino-chan is GORGEOUS! Her eyes are so beautiful and she has this sweet look that is simply moe.
For now, there will not be any fancy poses since her stand is still on the way. Even though we kept it simple, model and photographer did their best.
You will see that I have not figured out yet how to get her hair right. It is not only the wig, but it is the styling itself that is not simple. I am so afraid of damaging the curls… >_<*
To help Yukino feel at home, I got her a small teddy to keep her company. The rabbit is so sweet. It is so small that it fits her jacket’s pocket, but it is so cute that I could not resist it.
I hope you liked the pictures and mainly my beloved Yukino! I uploaded more shots on my Flickr. Hints are always welcome.
Until next time! またね！
After waiting for more than 3 weeks for her, today I was finally able to welcome Yukino-chan home.
It is a pity that after a long day at work, I was way too tired to set up everything to take better pictures of her. However, I couldn’t wait any longer. So please bare with the quality of the shots.
Even the invoice was special. How adorable is that? Thank YOU for making such beautiful daughters for us.
Seeing Yukino on the box left me even more nervous. Now it was a matter of opening the box and getting her ready.
I started with the small packages before getting to the real thing.
Even Soubi was curious about his little sister.
Finally, Yukino was dressed and ready for some souvenir pictures.
I am looking forward the weekend when I will have the chance to make a better photo shoot of her.
Thank you for reading.
* More pictures on my Flickr.
I did not check the customs today as it is weekend anyway. If they did not released Yukino last Thursday, it is not going to happen today (neither tomorrow).
It was really a pity because the weather was so beautiful! There were surely lots we could have done together if she were here.
As it was not possible, I grabbed the camera and got my Mio Nendoroid to pose for me.
Needless to say that feedback is always welcome. 😉
I am feeling more confident with the camera now. Despite knowing that there is still a lot to improve, I see some progress and begin to understand my possibilities.
I think it is already time to start post-editing my pictures.
Even though it might be a source of frustration in the beginning, it is probably worth a try. Waiting until I get expert in taking pictures to start would simply be a waste of time.
To be continued…
To my despair, Yukino-chan is still at the customs office. This wait is crazy!
Besides some clothes, I have also received another I placed for her. It was a little welcome gift that I can hand in yet because the owner is still on her way home. *sad*
In order to pass time, I decided to practice photography on another figure from Hazuki I have.
This figure has a lot of details and I ended up struggling with the shadows.
I ended up going to a light background at the end.
As usual, tips are always welcome. On my Flickr, I posted more shots. Please let me know your favorites to help me improve.
