What an unplanned hiatus!
I came from posting daily pictures of my girls to being also 5 months away from blogging.
The thing is that working is really sucking life out of me. In order to be able to start sleeping again, I returned to the gym. I LOVE lifting, but never dedicate myself long enough to get good results. Also, dieting is not my specialty. This time however, I have been doing really well. I am proud to say that I have reached the weight I wanted, that I am getting leaner and leaner, that I am looking much better than I was before, and, I have been sleeping like a baby every single night since I started working out twice a day, for six days a week.
In addition, there is my Dreamweaver course. I haven’t been the best student ever (missed some classes and haven’t been doing much homework), but I am really enjoying it.
Anyways, here and there, I find time to my girls…
I haven’t bought them anything new in a while, but they still have some outfits to show off.
I love them all so much…
I hope it will not take that long again for me to show up once more.
My girls would love to stay in touch with everyone as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by.
It took me more than one year to make up my mind and get Yukino. Back then, the plan was sticking to only one Dollfie Dream for at least a looooong time.
The long time lasted only until December when Aoi joined the family. Yukino was feeling lovely and Aoi was a natural combination that worked perfectly from day one.
But then it came the overseas lottery… It was the first time I was participating in one and I decided to increase my chances. My boyfriend and I went for both Mariko and Millhi. The result was: he got Millhi and I, Mariko.
Initially, the idea was selling Mariko-sensei. It was nothing against her, but because of her white skin, I was a little concerned about having to invest again in a brand new set of hands. Silly, but true.
Millhi is not home yet. As they tried to deliver her when there was nobody home, we will have to wait until Monday to bring her home. Yesterday however, we picked Mariko-sensei up.
On the way home, I started doubting my plans of selling Mariko… I hadn’t opened the box yet, but it started to feel “wrong”. “And if I sell her to someone who will not take proper care of her”; “She is the first White Skin DDS. Won’t I regret not keeping her?” etc etc etc.
I opened VOLKS box and the tears came. I did not even remove the plastic because it would only make things worse.
After some thinking, I surrendered to her charms.
She is too cute for me to let her go just like that. Mariko-sensei stays with the rest of the girls.
Our family is getting really big now and I am proud of every single of my girls.
I have been really busy lately. For the most part, it is because of work. Unfortunately, I haven’t found time to get back to my “normal” routine (which includes training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and going to the gym). However, I don’t lose heart. And not only I am going to be on the mat and on the gym floor really soon again, I am already planning further.
On my first post of 2012, I already mentioned that I wanted to do some new things. The kick-off was my entrance to a photo contest (and if you haven’t voted yet, remember that you have until February 5th to do so). I also mapped this blog on a personalized domain (https://debbierodrigues.com/) and had a haircut.
Today, I came across an old blog entry I posted back in 2007 that reflects a lot of my spirit now. It reinforced the fact that I am not having just an impulse of excitement, that is who I am.
I hope to have some more news for everybody soon. And in the meantime, I continue doing my best to improve my photography skills.
Thanks for stopping by.
Yes! Even though in the beginning I have said that I was going to stick with one DD for a long time, I have ordered my second one.
In fact, she is “already” here, after spending 2 weeks at the customs office, they finally tried to deliver her today. Unfortunately, as I was at work, I do not have her in my arms yet. Tomorrow, I am going to the post office first thing in the morning.
And who is my second DD?
It is pretty much a no-brainer, but I simply felt she was the sister Yukino needed.
Aoi’s first version had that angry face, but the second one is much lighter. A serious, but not aggressive girl (this is my humble opinion – I adore both versions anyway).
I am so excited about her!!! I already have some clothes waiting for Aoi to arrive.
I can’t wait to start taking pictures of the two sisters together!
Even though I am not really into celebrating the holidays, it is impossible not to get caught in all the fun.
It might be a little late for Christmas, but we would like to wish you all and your beloved ones a FANTASTIC New Year!
May 2012 bring peace, health, success, harmony and new DDs to you. (^_^*)
In order to bring some fresh air to my pictures of Yukino-chan, I decided to play a little with Lightroom’s filters. It also added some mystery to the her new look, so it was double fun.
Recently, I ordered an outfit from Nine9Style for her. It looks really nice, including the boots. So far, I have not had the best luck with the shoes I got for Yukino. This pair made me really happy.
Together with the outfit, they sent a small magazine with some of their outfits. It looks really nice and I could not leave it without a photo shoot.
The wig looks so sweet on her. Pink is one of my favorite colors and it is exciting to see how nice Yukino looks in it. (^_^*)
Thanks for reading!
Last weekend, I decided to try making a dress for Yukino-chan. I used jade pixel’s pattern. For once, I was not that concerned about sewing. I just wanted to make something that Yukino could wear.
I used some linen I already had home. Last year, I started following sewing lessons. Even though I quit the course after a couple of months, I still have a lot of material at home.
The instructions are very clear and I did not have any problem following them. It was the very first I made a ruffle and I was a little nervous about it. However, everything went fine and I was able to finish it.
The neutral colors ended up bringing the best out of Yukino. I must admit that I did not even feel like post processing any of her pictures. I loved them so much that I let them as I took them.
I have also made the other accessories she was wearing. I knitted the leg warmers as well as the scarf.
Thanks a lot for stopping by and I hope you Yukino’s outfit as much as I have enjoyed making it.
P.S.: This is my 20th entry on this blog and I would like to share with you the quotation I just “received” from WordPress: “Easy reading is damn hard writing.” — Nathaniel Hawthorne
